Lynnderella Common Sense

So I know there's a new Lynnderella collection out already (Early Halloween Resurrected), but not only have I not purchased it yet, I know that Sweet Somethings for a Summer Solstice is still available for purchase on eBay. So I figured I'd post swatches of it whenever I wear it in case anyone is still undecided on whether to get it or not :)

 Personally, I LOVE the collection. So today I'm going to show you Common Sense over BB Couture's Erotic Night. I did 2 coats of Erotic Night and 1 coat of Common Sense. But here's where it gets weird. This glitter is so dense that on my first finger it went on (my pinky), I over did it. You can see, even though I tried to spread it out, it just was too much that I glopped onto there! So my next nail (ring finger), came out ok and the middle finger, too. Then I thought, maybe just a bit more for my index finger and BAM! Too much again. So, my apologies for the uneven application. I would have taken it off and redone it, but then I thought this would be a good way to warn you guys about how densely packed this glitter is!

First Guest Post!!!

 Hey Everyone! Today I will be posting some special content for you! What makes it so special? Well, I think it's special because it's from one of the winners of our first giveaway :D Isn't that exciting? When I first notified Isabel that she was a winner, she asked me if we would consider posting her manicure and input when she received the package, which I honestly thought was an amazing idea! So these are her pictures and a copy and paste of what she e-mailed me for everyone to enjoy.

First of all, thank you so much again for the wonderful polishes. They arrived really fast (I received them the last week of October), and there was no trouble with customs at all, they just got delivered.

And last Sunday was the day to my first mani with one of the colour-shifting pigments (which indeed were the highlight of this giveaway for me) and to take photos of it.

Here’s what I did:
'First of all, I used a small sample of Art Deco Nail Wonder as a base coat. As I wanted to use quite a dark polish as my base colour, I wanted to make sure to avoid staining. (And by the way – it was okay when I removed that mani yesterday, no staining at all).

After that had dried (which just took a few moments) I put on a polish that’s not a colour I would usually wear, a dark vampy red with lots of brownish tones. Not very “me”, although I quite liked it when it was ready. The polish I used was a very old one; I must have bought it in a collection of polishes at evilbay years ago and had to thin it a bit with polish thinner. Anyway, it’s Margaret Astor No. 21 (no name, unfortunately), and I decided to put on three coats as it seemed a bit patchy after the second coat. The bottle says it’s a polish that dries within 60 seconds, well, in fact it seemed to dry quite fast, but to make sure I just added one coat of essence studio nails better than gel nails top sealer. It’s a really good quick-drying top coat you can get for little money in many shops in Germany. It did its job, and in the first picture you can see the until-now finished result (done under artificial light, as it was already dark outside).

I let this settle for one or two hours and then added one coat of the colour-shifting pigment (in clear base) “copper red to green” to it. Great base, it was wonderfully easy to apply. I finished all of it off (remember – it was five layers of polish altogether) with one thick coat of Seche Vite (it was time for bed, and I didn’t want to wake up with nails loaded with sheet marks the next morning). It did its work very well, the manicure was still perfect the next morning.

The result is – well, like unicorn pee at its best. I didn’t compare them, but I think there’s absolutely no need to spend lots of money for the famous Clarins polish if you can get your hands on this colour-shifting pigments! Absolutely gorgeous, thus I did three photos to show the many colours it flashes (taken under the same artificial light).

 The mani held up quite well, although I started to have some tipwear on the third day. Well, the polish I used as base colour didn’t seem to hold up too well, but at least there were no chips.

Comparison: Finger Paints Shades of Fall Vs. OPI Mrs. O'Leary's BBQ

This was one of those comparisons that I decided to do after nail wheel swatches. I noticed that these 2 were really close in color on the nail wheel. The main difference being that one (OPI MOLBBQ) has more red undertones than the other. I'm surprised to say that nobody really noticed I had on 2 different colors in real life. I even had one woman grab my hand and compliment the color.

Of course I didn't tell her it was actually 2 different colors, I didn't want to blow her mind! LOL But I think they're similar enough to warrant mention :) Mrs. O'Leary's BBQ is actually one of my favorite 'go to' shades for when I want a vampy red. Nice to know I have something similar in my stash.

New week, new goodies! :D

Soo, hello again everyone! How are you all doing? Hopefully fine and not dying in the heat! It's been so hot and humid here thanks to the overcast :( But I come bearing new stuff today! Yesterday as I dropped a few packages off at the post office, I thought, hmmm, maybe I should go to Ulta and see if there's anything I want to redeem my rewards for. Which, in theory was a good idea, right? Free polish, I mean, when is free polish ever a bad idea, right? Well, I'll tell you when....when it's not free! That's right, I did not have my certificate with me :(

But I didn't realize this until after I arrived. Don't you hate that? I know I'm not the first person to experience this :p But moving right along! I get to Ulta with my kids in tow and walk around to the area with all the polishes. Well, much to my surprise they already had the Essie fall stuff out and the Orly Cosmic FX collection! It looked picked over already so it must have been out for a while. But I was able to get my hands on the last 3 polishes in the display. So I got 2 Space Cadets and 1 Halley's Comet.

I thought Halley's Comet looked similar to OPI's Catch Me In Your Net, but I got it anyway. So when I got home I was actually a bit pleased to see that yes, it is just like Catch Me In Your Net! Why pleased? Cause I've been trying to get my hands on a backup of it with no luck. So now, technically, I have a backup! So, I guess if you're not looking to dupe or get an extra Catch Me In Your Net then you should probably skip getting Halley's Comet. I've also read that CMIYN is an exact dupe of Zoya's Charla. But I don't have that one, so I can't compare those for you. Sorry :(

But don't those colors just make you drool? Well, now to nails. Monday night I decided it was time to take off my SSN franken and put something else on. And thanks to all the glitters I've been using lately, I felt like no glitter. So I put on BB Couture's Erotic Night. This color is just gorgeous! Reminds me of blood! But in a good way :p It's even more amazing to me because I did not use any topcoat. BB Couture says their polishes are 4in1 (base coat, top coat, nail strengthener and color), so I wanted to see just how true it is.


As far as shine goes, it looks great! Of course I'm pretty rough with my hands so it's a bit scuffed up. But I couldn't tell you if it lasted long cause soon after getting home from Ulta, I put some Space Cadet over this color.

I love these Cosmic FX polishes and that's really all I can say about them! Just a few minutes ago as I began typing this post, UPS brought me my transdesign order with more of the Orly Cosmic FX polishes and a couple others. I'll be sure to post my haul either tonight or tomorrow. Most likely it will be tonight sometime so that I can get to work on swatches for tomorrow! Yeah, that sounds good, actually. So stay tuned for a haul later today ;)

Royal Rajah Ruby is LOVE!

I remember when this first was available on the 8ty8 website and I thought to myself, hmmm, that looks pretty! But then when I saw a bunch of NOTDs with it on, I thought, it looks black so I'll pass. And it didn't tempt me until the other day at Ulta when I saw it in real life. I have to say, I was wanting it really bad. I couldn't bear the thought of going home without it, so I got 2. I decided to put this on lastnight and really, I couldn't be happier! This is 2 coats with Seche Vite on top. It's not all that great indoors or out in the shade, but when you see this in the sun, WOW! I'll let the pictures do the talking.

Overall the application on this was great! This is 2 coats in the pictures and it was completely opaque. RRR, I'm sorry I resisted you for so long!
