Oh Barielle...

Why do you disappoint me so?

Barielle had a sale recently, so I decided to pick up a few colors including what I assumed were new colors. I could not find online swatches anywhere. Against my better judgement, I picked them up. They are Brown Sparkles, Pretty Pink, and Gold Digger. Here are pictures of the swatches that were provided on the Barielle website.

They look awesome don't they?! I imagined them to be like BB Couture Kelly Green with specks scattered throughout. Or even something like their Falling Star shade. Brace yourself...

Brown Sparkles, Pretty Pink, Gold Digger

A FROSTY PINK?! Are you kidding me? I don't even know what to say. The sad part is they might not be worth returning since I would have to pay for the shipping costs. *sigh* Teach me to buy before I see online swatches. I suppose Brown Sparkle and Gold Digger aren't bad but not what I was expecting. Just more salt in the wound.

Barielle Brown Sparkle. Bronze foil. Three coats and very nice coverage. The formula is surprisingly nice. Despite my disappointment, I do like this one.

One coat of Kleancolor Tahiti Sunset over Brown Sparkle.

Barielle Gold Digger. Gold foil. Three coats as well and no formula issues.

One coat of Sally Hansen Take The Stage over Gold Digger. I wish this one was not as sparse. I had some trouble getting the hex glitter where I wanted.

Barielle Pretty Pink. Frosty pink. Two coats for this one and strokes galore. Haaaaaaate! Blerg.

And this concludes your PSA against Pretty Pink.

Barielle Karma Collection

I think on the Barille website this is called the Karma Kollection. "Kollection" Really? Let's not go there.

Do Unto Others. Mmmm. Beautiful turquoise creme. I think if i used a thicker coat, I could have gotten away with one coat. I did have to add a few drops of thinner to this before using. It was just a tad too thick for my tastes, but nothing too bad.

More Connect the Dots! One coat.

Then I tried one coat of CND Emerald Shimmer.

Positive ZEN-ergy. Light grass green with silver shimmer. This reminds me a green version of Butter London's Victoriana. I can say this is unique to my green collection! Three thin coats and no formula issues.

One coat of Deborah Lippmann Today Was A Fairytale.

Soul-er Powered. Golden yellow packed with gold shimmer. The shimmer really made me love this one. It is so sparkly even in low lights. Two coats and perfect! This is my favorite among the colors I picked up from this collection.

One coat of Deborah Lippmann Boom Boom Pow.

Buddha-ful. Blue/green flakies in a beige base. Four coats on its own. It gives it that opal gem look. I love flakies but I can't find myself reaching for this one. The base seems too opaque to be layered over any color without changing the base color so much. My CND Limelight has the same flakie colors and is an almost clear base. I want to say there is a Nfu-Oh flakie with same blue/green flakes that would work as well. I think if they made the base more jelly-like I would have loved it more (like Elle's Spell). I've also layered this over CND Perfectly Bare.

It was really hard for me to capture the blue flash in the flakies, so here is a bottle picture.

A comparison of Buddha-ful and CND Limelight. Pink and middle (pink is left) is CND Limelight and ring and index is Buddha-ful. These are all one coat over a black creme (American Apparel Hassid). They both have the same color type of flakies but Buddha-ful as you can see, is in a cremey base.

Here is Creative Nail Design (CND) Limelight for good measure. Two coats over American Apparel Hassid, a black creme. There is a small tint to the base, but it is hardly noticeably over black. It is beautiful isn't it?!

Mistletoe Mischief's Jelly Goodness and Elle's Spell Swatches!!

Good Morning! I'm on earlier than usual today :) Unfortunately my afternoon will be pretty busy so if I don't post now, it won't get done :(

First off will be the 3rd and final Finger Paints polish I got from their Holiday Collection this year. Mistletoe Mischief. This polish is AMAZING! Seriously, it's such a beautiful dark green jelly, has tons of glitter and my favorite thing.......it doesn't look black indoors! You can really tell it's green and I love that about it :) Here are a few pictures to show you what I'm talkin' about!

Then of course, I really couldn't wait to use Elle's Spell as I did my nails lastnight. So I had to try it out. I wanted to see what it would look like by itself and over other colors. So here are swatches of it. On my pinky is 4 coats of just Elle's Spell, my ring finger is 2 coats over black, my middle finger is 2 coats over red and my index finger is 2 coats over a dark purple.

Here's a video showing both Mistletoe Mischief and the Elle's Spell swatches.

My opinion? I love it for layering! It's not as red as it is in the bottle unless you do 4 or more coats. But over a red or darker colors it looks so beautiful! I definitely hope everyone gets their hands on a bottle of this!

Also! Before I forget (again!). I did swatches of One Less Lonely Glitter and Bring on the Tinsel over black yesterday, but fogot to post them! Here are close ups of them. Each are one coat of the glitter over black.

One Less Lonely Glitter

Bring On The Tinsel

I don't know if I ever mentioned this, but the brushes on the Justin Bieber Nicoles is like the brush in the Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure polishes. I'm not a big fan to be honest. It's wider than the OPI Pro Wide and in my opinion, harder to work with. Mainly because of the way the bristles are shaped. But I know some people who prefer that brush type. Just thought I'd mention it! :)

Well, that's it from me for today. Over the next couple of days I'll probably be using the OPI Holi-Daze colors and compare them to last year's colors. Until then, I hope you guys are having a great day and see you soon!!!
