Halloween: Pumpkin manicure

Deborah Lippmann Lara's Theme with black pumpkins. I used Bundle Monster plate 222 (BM-222). This is cute, simple, and fairly easy to do. I consider myself a konad novice and I don't think it came out too bad! I used the black konad polish for the pumpkins. I did suffer from bubbles because I tried to do a thick coat of topcoat so I wouldn't smudge the design. Boo. It wasn't too noticeable though.

Here is a quick picture of what the BM plate looks like. I purchased this from Amazon. It is from the second set. Click here for the direct link.

Also, I should note that at first I had a little trouble getting the polish to stick onto my stamper. I never had this problem with the konad brand plates. I just took my glass file and filed the top of the stamper a tiny bit. I heard this helps adhere the polish to the stamper and it worked!

Deborah Lippmann swatches

Deborah Lippmann Across The Universe. Blue jelly with blue and green glitter. Two coats. Great application. I did not have to struggle to place the glitter at all. I love this one. It reminds me of the ocean. It should have been named Across The Sea! Edit: I think I layered this over a green creme. Revlon Jaded Night possibly.

Deborah Lippmann Good Girl Gone Bad. Burgundy glitter. Two coats and great formula. I have been lemming this one for so so long. I just couldn't bring myself to buy the mini set just for this. I am SO glad they decided to release this in the full size version as a part of the Holiday 2011 collection. It is so sparkly!

One coat of Lynnderella Very Pretty Vampire over Good Girl Gone Bad.

Deborah Lippmann Laura's Theme. Orange creme. Two coats and a tiny tiny bit thick. I added a few drops of thinner to mine, but probably not a problem for most people. I am not an orange lover but I adore this one! It is so bright and cheery.

One coat of Lynnderella Cauldron Drippings over Laura's Theme.

Nars Night Series collection Fall 2011 nail polish swatches

The Nars Night Series collection that I picked up during their sale and free shipping. How could I resist?! These are limited edition. The formula was superb on all of them and they are very pigmented.

Night Flight. Black base packed with blue shimmer. I also see some purple shimmer in there too. Two coats and a great formula.

One coat of Deborah Lippmann Today Was A Fairytale over Night Flight.

Night Breed. Black base with silver glitter. The glitter is irregularly shaped giving it an unique look. Two coats and perfect formula. The coverage is very nice and the black does not drown out the silver glitter at all. I didn't expect to love this one as much as I do.

Two coats of Lynnderella Bride of Franken over Night Breed. I am in love with this polish!

A comparison of the black with silver glitters that I own. Left to right (pinky to index) is Finger Paints Where Art Renoir? (two coats), Hard Candy Wicked (three coats), Nars Night Breed (two coats), and Nubar Knight's Armor (three coats).

Night Porter. Blackened green with green and gold shimmer. Two coats and a great formula. This one really comes to life in sunlight.

Two coats of Lynnderella All Hallow's Eve over Night Porter.

One coat of Misa Emerald Sea over Night Porter.

Night Rider. Muted purple with clear flakies and multicolor shimmer. This is two coats and no formula issues at all.

One coat of Deborah Lippmann Some Enchanted Evening over Night Rider.

Revlon glitters

Revlon Starry Pink. Pale pink with silver glitter. Three coats and very nice formula. I had no problems at all.

I've added one coat of Dare 2 Wear Techno Beat. I can't stop staring at that one holographic hex glitter. LOL It is looking at me!!

Ruby Kisses Blue My Mind. Blue jelly! This was two coats. What is not to love?!

Revlon Blue Mosaic. One coat over Blue My Mind. I get the feeling this was supposed to be the Deborah Lippmann Across The Universe dupe, but I don't find them that alike. Blue Mosaic is pretty in its own right. Blue, silver, and green glitter in a clear base.

Facets of Fuchsia. Purple glitter in a blackened base. Oh Revlon, I love you. Aside from the normal awesome colors they are putting out, they are doing a really good job on releasing high end dupes. This one is a copycat of Deborah Lippmann's Bad Romance. This was three coats and the formula was okay. I found it a bit watery but not that bad at all.

One coat of Creative Nail Design (CND) Violet Shimmer over Facets of Fuchsia. I really liked how this turned out!

Deborah Lippmann Bad Romance. Purple glitter in a blackened base. I did three coats to get it very black, but you could get away with two. Very nice formula.

A comparison of Bad Romance and Facets of Fuchsia. Pinky (left is pinky) and middle are Bad Romance while ring and index are Facets of Fuchsia. They are very close. Facets of Fuchsia is just a tad lighter black than Bad Romance. I've seen girls layer Facets of Fuchsia over black and it looks identical. Considering the Revlon cost me $4.00 and Bad Romance $18.00, I would have definitely gone with the Revlon if I had the choice.

These are permanent at Target as far as I know as I bought them from the regular display rather than a side cap/limited edition display. I've also heard they have been sited at Walgreens too.
