MAC Events are so much fun!

Well, I got some goodies at a recent event where they had items from the new collections. So here are a few swatches.

I actually ordered the Viva Glam Nicki from the MAC website. I got an e-mail with a one time use code inviting me to order the lipstick before it's release and the awesome UPS guy dropped it off this morning! I have to say, I really love it! I think it's supposed to be released with a Lip Conditioner that has Ricky Martin's signature on it and it should be available for a year. It's a satin finish and very pigmented.

Quick Sizzzle is a matte and Watch Me Simmer is an amplified creme, so they're both very creamy in texture and highly pigmented. As you can see from my swatches, they're not as glossy as Flamingo which is a lustre.

I also picked up the pigment stacks from the Vera collection. I tried to get as accurate on the photos as I could, so all photos are out in direct sunlight at 2 different angles. These pigments are very metallic and I'm surprised to say I'm a bit unhappy with some of them. I'll explain why after the pictures so you can see what I'm referring to.

From L-R: Strawberry Patch, Butterfly Party, Aloha

Strawberry Patch is pretty. Lots of pink! I normally don't prefer pink eyeshadows, but I've come to really love the crushed metallic pigments, which is why I got them all. This one was a bit disappointing because Strawberry Patch is very chunky in application. It reminds me of the first version of Kitschmas pigment. You can see it's chunkiness when applied and I don't like that. You can see it in the pictures. Other than that, I love  Moon Rose and Star Crystal.

Butterfly Party
From L-R: Desert Cloud, Butterfly Party, Moss Garden, Rain Drop

Butterfly Party, probably the one I was most anticipating! Sadly, this was the one I was disappointed in the most. The reason being that 2 of the 4 pigments are chunky. Like the one in the Strawberry Patch stack. I find these hard to work with because they go on unevenly and you get a lot of fallout when applying because of their chunkiness. Desert Cloud and Moss Garden are the culprits. Colorwise, I love them all. But I can't get over their texture. Rain Drop and Butterfly Party were pretty much perfection.

Aloha

This one ended up being my favorite! All 4 of these colors applied like a dream! So soft and buttery in texture and so pigmented. I have no complaints about this one. I love Campfire and Aloha the most.

Well, that's it from me for today! Hopefully these swatches are helpful if you didn't go to a local event or if you just haven't purchased anything yet. I think this collection is due to come out next week! So until next time, I hope you guys have a wonderful and safe weekend!
