Tokidoki Savana

Hello! It is raining today, unfortunately. So I can't show you what I had planned for today. Instead, I'm pulling something out that I did over the Summer :)

This is a pretty glitter by Tokidoki, it's called Savana. I'd describe it as a mix of gold, light gold and pink glitter. I didn't find it too opaque, in fact, I had some trouble with the formula. I found it to be thick and hard to work with. But I love glitter, especially the small glitters cause they twinkle and catch the light so nicely! So, this was 3 painful coats. Painful to get them even, it dried so quickly that there were uneven layers. I had to work quick and try to even it out before it dried all goopy. I haven't added any thinner to this, but I plan to before I put it on again.

You can also see a chip in one of my nails. That was due to my trip to Costco before I photographed, my polish always chips when I'm lifting heavy things! So, if you're rough with your hands, this is a chippy glitter. It's also a very thirsty glitter, so I used two coats of Gelous and topcoat here to even it out. It dries sort of matte, so I should have known better. But initially I tried 1 coat of Gelous and 1 of Seche Vite. Once dry, it was still very gritty looking, so I added another coat of Gelous and Seche Vite and it smoothed it out nicely. Just know that you have been warned if you plan on wearing this. So now, the pictures!

Well, that's it from me for today. Until next time, hope you're having a Happy Friday and have a fun and a safe weekend!

China Glaze Wicked!

Hello! Today I'm excited to show you something I got in the mail on Monday. Last Friday I purchased 4 polishes from 8ty8 Beauty and got them in Monday's mail - Immortal, Cast A Spell and Make A Spectacle. Wait a minute, that's only 3? I know, I'm weak and I got 2 of Make A Spectacle because I LOVE iridescent glitter. I have no regrets!!

I thought about getting the other colors, but decided to wait until I see them in real life before deciding if I want to purchase them or not. Also, the lighting today varies since it was a bit cloudy and the clouds kept covering and uncovering the sunlight. So, there's a lot of pictures today, all take outdoors without flash.

These were such great choices, imo. The formula on Immortal and Cast A Spell was so smooth and applied so nicely! Cast A Spell was a 1 coater! I did two coats because my first coat was a bit sloppy near the cuticle, but there was no patchiness or streakiness at all! Make A Spectacle was really thick and at first applied with some difficulty and bubbles. So, I thinned it quite a bit, let it rest for a few hours and when I put it back on, nice and smooth and bubble free :D If I had a choice between the three, I'd have to take Cast A Spell and Make A Spectacle as my absolute favorites. Who knows if I'll like the rest when I see them in person.

I hope you're all enjoying this awesome Wednesday as it's almost over! Also, just some info in case you're interested in ordering from 8ty8, just click here to peruse their site. I am in no way affiliated with them and I don't get anything if you order from them. I have been a customer of theirs since 2006 and am satisfied with their prices, turn around time and customer service :)

Ulta also already has these out and they're running a Buy 2 Get 1 Free promo on China Glaze. Plus they have a coupon for $3.50 off a $10 purchase that you can print out if you click here, essentially getting 3 China Glaze polishes for $10.50 before tax. If you plan on doing this, hurry because I believe the coupon and the B2G1F expire this coming Saturday!

Sally's is also supposed to be putting these out on or after October 1st, according to what my local Sally's employees told me. So, there's options out there if you want to pick up or see the collection in person and possibly save money :D Until next time!!!

Lynnderella I Don't Mean Rhinestones!

Ah, late post today! That Saturday post must have thrown me off :p Anyhow, today I have another Lynnderella from this past Summer's collection, I Don't Mean Rhinestones. I wore this over Nina Ultra Pro's Cobalt. This is one of the new colors in the new bottle. It is such an amazing jelly! I did not photograph it alone because I was in a bit of a time crunch, but next time I wear it, I'll be sure to make a post for it all on it's own.

Now, this Lynnderella, much like most of the others I've tried from this collection is super dense! So I only did 1 coat over Cobalt. I'm sure if any of you want to wear it alone, you'd likely get full coverage in two coats. But enough talk, let's get to the pictures!

What do you guys think? Have you layered it over a different color family? Also, I wanted to say that my next few posts I'm going to take a break from Lynnderellas. Mainly because I just got some new goodies that I want to show off! So until next time, thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful evening!

Gold Lion's gonna tell me where the light is!

Hello! I'm a bit off schedule as this was going to be Monday's post, but I'm so excited about this combo that I just had to show it to you now. I layered Lynnderella's Golden Rules over China Glaze's I'm Not Lion. Initially I was only going to show the combination, but I'm Not Lion is so pretty all on it's own that I decided to show it by itself as well.

I'll also tell you that the whole time I was putting this on, I was singing a song. I won't tell you what it is yet, but can you guess it? The title is a HUGE clue, but I'll reveal at the end of the post! Anyhow, back to the polish. This is 3 coats of China Glaze I'm Not Lion with 1 thin coat of Seche Vite.

Initially, I wasn't going to add topcoat to it, but I did put 1 thin layer on because it dries matte. Aside from drying matte, it is very thirsty. But the thin topcoat I added was just to take the matte effect away for photo purposes.

Now, here it is with 2 coats of Lynnderella Golden Rules layered on top.

And because my "hands are out of control", another video to show you how this looks to my naked eye, which is just glitter-tastic to be honest.

Just in case you're still here and wondering what that song was, it was Gold Lion. Without further ado, Ladies and Gentlemen, The Yeah Yeah Yeahs:

Lynnderella Common Sense

So I know there's a new Lynnderella collection out already (Early Halloween Resurrected), but not only have I not purchased it yet, I know that Sweet Somethings for a Summer Solstice is still available for purchase on eBay. So I figured I'd post swatches of it whenever I wear it in case anyone is still undecided on whether to get it or not :)

Personally, I LOVE the collection. So today I'm going to show you Common Sense over BB Couture's Erotic Night. I did 2 coats of Erotic Night and 1 coat of Common Sense. But here's where it gets weird. This glitter is so dense that on my first finger it went on (my pinky), I over did it. You can see, even though I tried to spread it out, it just was too much that I glopped onto there! So my next nail (ring finger), came out ok and the middle finger, too. Then I thought, maybe just a bit more for my index finger and BAM! Too much again. So, my apologies for the uneven application. I would have taken it off and redone it, but then I thought this would be a good way to warn you guys about how densely packed this glitter is!

Ok, enough talk, on to the pictures!

But now look at it in the shade!

So, what do you guys think? I think the copper and pink work really well together! More of this collection to come as I wear it. Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day :D

Nicoly by OPI Rainbow In The S-Kylie

Today's post was a user request on YouTube, so thank you JustAddLove for tuning in :D I tried to use this on it's own, but even after 4 coats, it was not completely opaque in coverage. So, I started over. I used 1 thin coat of Crown Me Already as the base, so that when I did RiTS, if there were any "bald" spots, it wouldn't be plain nail you could see.

I did 4 coats and you could still see Crown Me Already in the bald areas. Crown Me Already is the tiny silver glitters peeking through, because Rainbow In The S-Kylie doesn't have tiny silver glitters as far as I can tell.

Overall, I like Rainbow In The S-Kylie, it's a nice big chunky glitter and it looks good, but I think it's best for layering since it's not too dense once on. Maybe next time I'll try two coats of Crown Me Already as the base or Orly Shine. Well, until next time, thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful evening!

Lynnderella The Garden of Even

Hello! Today I wanted to show you one of my new favorite combos. Hopefully you'll see why it's a new favorite! For this combo, I did 2 coats of Sally Hansen's Purple Pizzazz with 1 coat of Lynnderella's The Garden of Even over it. This combo sort of reminds me of WnW's Back Alley Deals and Tokidoki's Stellina. Kind of, but this has some extra oomph to it! This was a very, very thirsty glitter. You'll see in the pictures and video that it's not completely smooth even though I did 2 coats of Gelous and 3 of Seche Vite. Regardless, the way this captures the light both indoors and out is just amazing!

Isn't that beautiful?! What have you guys been layering this over? I purchased the Sweet Somethings For A Summer Solstice over the Summer, so I will be featuring the colors over the next few weeks. For anyone interested in purchasing any of the Lynnderellas that will be shown, you can buy from Lynnderella's official eBay store (<---click to see it, Jan and I are in no way affiliated and get nothing for linking you), which is run by her brother. Well, thank you for stopping by. Have a wonderful Monday and see you next time!
