Del Sol Trick or Treat and a new blue franken

Hey Everyone! So, here I am on a Saturday so glad to finally have a decent video of this beauty. I have on Del Sol's Trick or Treat. If you're not familiar with them, Del Sol makes products that change color in the sun. So I thought this was pretty neat.

This is Trick or Treat indoors:

And here it is once exposed to the sun. It begins changing to a dark berryish color and ends up looking black.

Here's a video showing the transformation.

I also wanted to take this opportunity to show you my newest franken! It's a jelly blue base with lots of holo, silver and hex glitter. Unfortunately the polish melted away the iridescent blue/green glitter, but it's still one of my new favorite frankens :)

I have 1 coat of my franken layered over 2 coats of Orly Royal Navy in this video. And please excuse my 2 shorter nails. I broke them and had to file them down :(

Well, that's it from me for today. I hope you're all enjoying your weekend! Thanks for stopping by and I'll see you again soon!

....and the Award goes to......Royal Navy!

Ok, well, not really an award for Orly, but I really like this color! And I'm excited to say that we've been tagged for an award. So this will be a two part post. First will be Orly's Royal Navy. Why? Cause it's gorgeous and deserves to be looked at first ;)

I can't believe this was in my untrieds for so long! It applied really well. This was 2 coats. It's very shimmery and hard to capture. The dark blue base is darker than it photographs :-X So that was pretty frustrating.

Now, on to the award! We received a message earlier today from Kari over at her Once Bitten blog saying she was tagging us for this award! So, we are gladly accepting and passing on the torch. Thank you, Kari!

Apparently, this award comes with rules. They are:

1. Thank and link the person who gave you the award
2. Share 7 things about yourself
3. Award 15 recently discovered bloggers
4. Contact these bloggers to tell them about the award

So, in an effort to keep things running smoothly, here I go with 7 useless facts about myself.

1. I am half Korean and half Mexican, making me Hapa.

2. I have 3 kids, all boys ages 2, 5 and 7 years old.

3. Everyday I find it harder and harder to name each boy with his corresponding name on the first try.

4. I have an out of control obsession with washing my hands that I don't want to quit.

5. I don't dye my hair, much to most peoples' disbelief and I probably never will (already greying).

6. I love face makeup a little more than I do nail polish.

7. I used to be a medic in the Army and sometimes think about rejoining the military.

Well, that's it! 7 useless facts that hopefully didn't bore you to death! But atleast now you know me a little bit better :)

Now here is my list of 15 bloggers (in no particular order) that I recently discovered and am going to tag with this award. I must warn you, they're not all about nail polish, but they're beauty related.

1. Nails In My Coffin
2. Pretty Punk Beauty Junkie
3. Paillette: A Little Nail Polish Journal
4. Nail Bean
5. Lacquerish
6. Pink Cat's Polish
7. JennyKaye's Musings and Such
8. Leaky Buckets
9. Nymphette Beauty
10. Unintelligent Design
11. What Lachesis Thinks!
12. Nail Narcissism
13. beau*ti*fied
14. Starberry Sugar
15. loodie loodie loodie

I know some of these recently won an award (different one), but I narrowed my list down by blogs I like that I think haven't had much exposure. So take a second to check them out and show 'em some lovin'!

Well, that's it from me for today. Thanks for stopping by and hope to see you guys again soon!

Powder Puff with glitter tips Funky French!

This is actually one I did last week. But I didn't post it, so here it is for you to see :) It's just your basic funky french. I used Revlon's Matte Suede Powder Puff as the base color and then some glitter I got at Hobby Lobby for the tips. The end result? A glittery french tip on a matte base. I actually kinda liked it! But you decide for yourself if you like it or not. My kids were in agreeance that this looked too weird, like 'Mr. Freeze from Lego Batman' (those were their exact words!). LOL

Short video so you can see the glitter in action!

Well, that's about it from me for today, so thanks for stopping by! Hopefully you guys are having a great Monday and I'll see you again soon!

Fearless Fog!

So lastnight I made an unplanned trip to Walfart in hopes of finding some Essie. Much to my dismay, there was none at my store yet.

There was however a brand new display for Sally Hansen. It was on an end cap and it was the nailgrowth miracle colors and the real nail polish strips (I call them faux minx). 2 colors immediately caught my eye, a light minty green with shimmer and a taupe creme. I don't know about you, but I like to check polishes before I buy them to make sure they don't have polish all over the neck. Unfortunately all of the green ones had gobs of polish on their necks, so I left them there. But there was one that had nothing on it of Fearless Fog. So this little beauty came home with me.

I have to say, I know it's not the most original color. But, for a self professed brown hater, these taupe colors are starting to grow on me! I also must note that I really need to start wearing my glasses out in public. Because at the store, I thought this was called Fearless Frog. It wasn't until this morning when I was taking pictures of the polish that I noticed it says Fog, not Frog!

Application on this was a dream! Very even, smooth and so pigmented it could have very easily been a one coater if I had been more neat. The brush is the same wide brush that's in the Complete Salon Manicure polishes as well. Only thing that really bothered me was the price to be honest. I think $5.50 is a bit much! In fact, I'm beginning to think a lot of drugstore nail polishes are getting too expensive! Of course I'm cheap, so you might not feel the same.

But it's that same cheapness that did not allow me to buy one of the faux minx Sally has to offer. Although one did catch my eye! It's called Frock Star. But like I said, I'm cheap and $8.50 seemed a bit much for me to get one. Here are a couple of bad phone pics I took of this Frock Star.

Looks nice and glittery, huh? I may cave someday. But lastnight was not the night. Alrighty, well it is Friday so don't forget to place your Zoya order before 11:59 p.m. EST tonight!

Also, before I forget, the Barielle Website is having free shipping right now until the 9th of January. No minimum. The polishes are $8 on the site, but they're buy 2 get 1 free. So if you get 3, it's like you're paying just a little bit over $5 each since shipping is free. Which is still a bit cheaper than getting them at Ulta where they cost $6 each and Elle's Spell is still in stock online as far as I can tell. So if you missed out, go order it now!

If you visit the website, don't be discouraged by the banner that says free shipping over $50. Put a polish in your cart and you'll notice it says shipping is free! So make sure you take advantage of the no minimum free shipping :D

Well, that's it from me for today. I hope you guys are getting lots of new goodies to enjoy! Until next week, have a fun and safe weekend!

We have lots of other Zoya polish swatches in case you need more! Just click here to see all the bottle, spoon and nail swatches we have to offer. It's not much, but if it can help one person, that's all that matters!

Well, don't forget, the offer on the Zoya website is good for 3 free polishes of your choice, just pay shipping (flat $6.95 I believe) and it expires Friday January 7th at 11:59 p.m. EST. All you have to do is put 3 polishes in your cart and type in the code, 'FB2011' during checkout and Zoya will automatically deduct the cost of 3 polishes. This offer is good one time per account. I hope you guys have fun shopping around and hope you get some good picks!
