Need some time off...

Hey everyone! Well on Thursday I received a phone call with some very awful news. One of my Grandmothers passed away :( After several phone calls, moving around of budget funds and reservations, I finally know that the family and I are going out of state for the services and funeral.

So tomorrow I will be leaving. Before I go of course I wanted to let you guys know that I shall return and also leave you with 2 NOTDs I wore in the last couple of days.

So here are Zoya Ivanka and Zoya Mimi. Please excuse the shrinkage and not so great pictures.

Well that's it from me for a while. I hope you're all doing well and in good health :)

  9. aww .. my heart goes out to you and your family in such a troubling time. As someone that has been more family funerals than I can count on both hands and feet, I know all-too-well that a family death can be a tough thing to go through. But, while some look at a funeral as a time to come together and grieve over the loss of a loved one, it's often overlooked that it's also a celebration of the life they lived and all of the great things they accomplished in their lifetime and how they touched you while they were alive. :) I'm not saying this in a religious manner. I'm speaking of my own experiences .. and how my family handles such an event. Funerals in my family always end up being a huge gathering and after we've cried together in the initial grief, we also laugh together as we share our own personal experiences with each other and what they mean to us. It always feels as if our loved one smiling down on us .. just something to keep in mind. I know that's how I'd want it to be when my time comes. The poem I copied below says it in a way that I never could. PS - sorry for the novel. I hope you made it this far without getting bored with me. ;)

Do not stand at my grave and weep,
I am not there, I do not sleep.

I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glint on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.

When you wake in the morning hush,
I am the swift, uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circling flight.
I am the soft starlight at night.

Do not stand at my grave and weep.
I am not there, I do not sleep.
Do not stand at my grave and cry.
I am not there, I did not die.
