L'Oreal Project Runway Colors Take Flight Collection

Owl's Night. Blackened brown base with gold microflakies and multicolor shimmer. I loveeeeeee this one. Definitely the star of the collection. Two coats and very pigmented.

I know there are a lot of pictures but I was playing with different light settings. I am gearing up for winter and the lack of sun we get here in Kansas. It snows up until April sometimes! The last picture is with a plastic bag over my lamp to diffuse my light. I learned this from Cilucia over at the nailboard. It looks pretty neat and I think I just need to tweak with it a little bit before I am satisfied with the pictures.

One coat of Ulta Pinata-Yada-Yada over Owl's Night. It looks ugly but I like it. LOL

Amazon's Flash. Gold foil. It is so bright! I love it. This was four thin coats. The formula reminds me of OPI Dazzled by Gold and takes a bit to build up to opaqueness but it doesn't really add too much thickness. Does that make sense? lol

One coat of LA Girl Provocative over Amazon's Flash.

Raven's Strength. Steel grey with multicolor shimmer. There was some brush stroke action going on, but not too bad. Under my lamp you mostly see the silver shimmer, but in direct sunlight the other colors come out. This was two coats and a great formula. I admit this one did not woo me like the other two I picked up.

These are limited edition from the Project Runway Colors Take Flight collection. I would not hesitate to pick up any of these if you are even slightly interested. There is only one of each color per store!! I spoke with the SA and she did not think they were going to get more polishes in but who knows. I paid $4.99 each for these.

EDIT: I did some googling and found you can preorder these from the Walgreens.com website and they will be available on 10/1/11. They are buy one get one 50% off at the moment with free shipping at $25.00. So that might be a more viable option for some of you ladies who cannot find full displays. I am not sure how long these will be on the website or what their stock is like, but I thought I would give a heads up.

  2. Owl's Night is awesome. It reminds me of China Glaze Midtown Magic (I think that is the name of it).

  3. The displays I've seen around here (at Walgreens and Meijer) have two of each color; I was lucky to be able to grab the ones I wanted. :)
