H&M Swatches

U Must Have This. A perfect sky blue creme. It reminds me of Misa Right Here Now, No More later. It was a little thick to apply but nothing too troublesome. This was two coats and the first one I wore as a full manicure.




Sinful Senorita. A pink holo. The holo on this is very sparse and almost hidden. If you look closely enough in the sunlight you are able to see it, but otherwise, indoors it is hidden. This was the only one coater of the bunch and isn't sheer like most holos are. Application was very smooth and this is also without any topcoat.




Mad About You. A dusty purple "holo" (I believe this was supposed to be a part of their holographic collection, so that is why I'm using the term loosely). This one didn't even look holo to me, but just looked like it was glittery shimmer. It is still a nice color nonetheless. Application was good and this is two coats without topcoat again.




Liberty Girl. Gorgeous light purple. I compared it to RBL Purple Haze and Liberty Girl is a tad lighter than it. I love colors like this. It may have even topped Purple Haze for my favorite purple. Application was perfect and this was two coats.



Fashionista. This was the only shimmer of the bunch and it did not disappoint. I know the quality is off on both photos but these were the only ones that came out color accurate and I had to take like a million of it. It is a very deep purple that just glows. Application was good and this was two coats.




Dollar Green. Well, this does not remind me of the color of money. Nope, definitely not. I mean, it is a mint green! I believe Dollar Green is a part of their new limited edition collection which includes a baby blue creme. This had the worst application and was 4 coats and still did not even out and I probably should have applied topcoat to help do that.




Bella's Choice. A turquoise leaning on the blue side? I'm so bad at describing colors, sorry :/ Anyways, I assume this is probably named after Bella from Twilight since there is another color (black with shimmer I believe) called Moonless Night. Haha, I'm all for it! A MUAer said, "Didn't Bella pick a vamp?" and I have to agree that this should have been a blood red or other dark vampy color. So maybe I am wrong about the Twilight theme after all. This was two coats and application was okay, a little thick but nothing unmanageable.

I received these H&M polishes from a friend overseas, since they are not available here in the US and I don't even live near one at that. I only asked for a few and she sent me some extras that I didn't even ask for. Yay! Sara, you are too awesome. ♥♥♥

These were my first H&M polishes and overall and I am pleased. The formula was good overall with the exception of Dollar Green. I love the colors that they make, not your standard red and pinks, which in my opinion everyone could use a break from. The only thing I was a little disappointed in was their lack of glitters. I don't think I've seen a glitter polish that they have done? Someone correct me if I'm wrong. I do have a few more on the way from a swap and hopefully I'll be able to swatch those very soon.

Franken Miss Meteor-ita!

I've named this franken Miss Meteor-ita with the help of a lovely nailboarder. I was trying to go for more of a jelly but this still came out pretty nonetheless. I used a no name mini turquoise creme, some Martha Stewart crafting glitter, Pure Ice Kiss Me Here (grey creme), and topped it off with some clear polish. Please click on the pictures to enlarge them, you can see the glitter a lot better! This was two coats and I'm happy with how opaque it was considering how much clear I used.

Chinoiserie Stellar Night

Stellar Night is a beautiful blue jelly with silver and blue glitter suspended in it. There are square and different size circle glitters from what I can tell. This is my first try at Chinoiserie and this polish did not disappoint. This was two coats and application was very smooth. I initially got this polish to simmer down my lemming for Essie's Starry Starry Night and while it's calmed for now I'm sure will return soon enough.

Models Own

Top Turquoise. A nice turquoise creme. It is bright and cheerful. This was three coats and the only one of the bunch that I had some application issues with. Sometimes whitish streaks would come out. Maybe I should have rolled the polish a bit before I applied? I wasn't sure if it was separation or what, but after three coats, it evened out and looked fine.



Slate Green. A dusty green creme. It reminds me a lot of Misa's Dirty, Sexy, Money. Maybe its baby sister as it looks lighter than DSM, but not pastel looking at all. This was two coats and the formula was perfect. The second picture is the most accurate.



Peacock Green. The only shimmer I got from the sale. This looks more like an emerald green to me with the tiniest hint of blue. I had such a hard time trying to photograph this and had to resort to not putting any topcoat on, which seemed to help. When I tried to photograph it with topcoat, it would be so so shiny (not that that is a bad thing) but my camera would freak out and it would look like I had radioactive nails or something. lol. This is two coats and the formula was amazing! Smooth and not too thick or thin and practically applied itself.



Misty Grey. A light grey creme. I love greys and this one does not disappoint. This was two coats and was easy peasy to apply. This reminds me of RBL's Concrete Jungle and I may do some comparison swatches later on for this one and a few others from this set. Very pretty, not much else to add.



Lime Green. This is a light green creme and the first one I wore as a full manicure. The formula was good and this was three coats. I really like this color and I don't have many greens like this in my collection surprisingly.



Grey Day. A beautiful dark grey creme. It's stunning! I love these types of greys and it reminds me of RBL Stormy. This was two coats and I had no application issues. This is another that I might do a comparison for.



Green Tea. Another great green creme. I can't get enough of them. This was two coats.



Grass Green. A green jelly!! Yes, that's right, a green jelly. This is hands down my favorite and this was only 2 coats too. It looks so unassuming in the bottle but on the nail, wow, it's gorgeous. And this is without topcoat! LOOK at how shiny it is. *goes blind* If you love green polish at all, this is a must!



Disco Mix. A blue and purple mix of glitter in a clear base. It's so sparkly and adding a topcoat just makes it shine that much more. Super simple and I'm sure anyone could franken this if they wanted to, but it is still pretty nonetheless. This was three coats.




Emerald City. Holy Smokes! Isn't she gorgeous? She isn't quite as aqua as my pictures show and is more of an medium green in real life. The base is clear and this was three coats. It was way more shiny in real life too, almost impossible to capture in just a picture. This is my favorite glitter of the bunch.




Bluebelle. A blue glitter in a clear base. It is super blingy and took three coats to achieve opacity. I didn't find this very bumpy after one coat of Seche Vite, but I'm sure two coats would make this completely smooth. My pictures didn't quite capture how shiny this really is in real life.

Overall I am quite happy with this purchase and I definitely plan to purchase more from them in the future. I think their prices are reasonable and they even have a deal where if you purchase 5 polishes you receive 7 pounds off. And I'm thankful they ship to the USA, being that most companies don't ship polishes overseas.

The formula was very good and I was pleasantly surprised by this and is probably the main reason I will be ordering from them again. Drying time was very quick too, for all of them and who can complain about that?

OPI Red Dazzle

OPI Red Dazzle is from the 2006 OPI Holiday collection so this may be a little hard to find. Red Dazzle is a bright red jelly with gold glitter.Application was flawless and the formula was perfect.

*whistles* Anyone notice a theme here? I may or may not have a weakness for greens and greys. I can never have enough of them. Anyways! Moving on...

Models Own had a 50% off sale a while back (I forget exactly but it was before I went on vacation). I think it was the beginning of February. I had a hard time narrowing down my list to just these 11. They have a lot of unique colors and stray away from just typical reds and pinks in my opinion, and I tend to be drawn to colors like that. As of right now, I've only used two as full manicures, Lime Green and Peacock Green, and as far as I can tell the formula is better than I expected. They applied beautifully and didn't require more than two coats each. Oh! And with the sale, I thought they were reasonably priced and I adore the cute bottles; along with the great quality!

I might try my first swatching session tomorrow with my main objective to get these all swatched. Wish me luck!
